The 12 private suites on Singapore Airlines' new Airbus A380 superjumbo jet are hard to beat. For starters, each one has a reclining leather chair, plus a full-size bed. With custom-designed linens and china by Givenchy and 23-in.-wide (58 cm) LCD-screen televisions, the cabins are more akin to staterooms on a luxury ship (in fact, they were created by the French yacht designer Jean-Jacques Coste). But there are some upgrades for the 399 passengers in economy class too. Redesigned to address what people hate about flying, the seats are 19 in. (48 cm) wide instead of the usual 17, and there is 10% more legroom. There's also a souped-up entertainment system that doubles as an in-flight workstation. A Singapore-London route launched March 18, with round-trip fares ringing in at $14,179 for a suite and $1,482 for an economy-class seat.
