The 2008 TIME 100 Finalists
Read about the leaders, artists, enterpreneurs and thinkers who, in your opinion, deserve a spot on this year's TIME 100 Scott Brown and Michelle Kung
AGE: 66
OCCUPATION: Mayor of New York City, bajillionaire
NUMBER OF TIME COVERS: 2 (one for the 2007 Time 100, one with Schwarzenegger)
PREVIOUS APPEARANCES ON THE TIME 100: 1
PRO: Bright, determined, and efficient, Mayor Mike took office four months after 9/11 and proceeded to improve a troubled school system, ban smoking from bars, and oversee an economic boom.
CON: His party-jumping promiscuity, not to mention dropping over $100 per vote on his two election campaigns, might strike some as a little too practical. And with the boom times over and the city struggling with budget basics, such as the hiring police officers, passion projects like his traffic-congestion initiative are hitting roadblocks.
