The White Stripes' 2007 album
wasn't great, just noisy. But a colossal racket plays far better on TV,
where you can see the band and, in this case, ponder how two people can
possibly generate that much volume. Meg White does her thing (drumming,
fixing her hair) while Jack plays several instruments, scratches the top
of his range and shreds the stage.
