#9. Wack! Art and the Feminist Revolution
The Geffen Contemporary at
the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art
A pinwheel of an exhibition dedicated to the unfettered spirit of
feminist art in the heyday of the women's movement in the 1970s. After
centuries in which men always had the last word on how women's lives and
bodies were depicted in art, it was finally the turn of women to see
what to make of themselves. What they made was quite something.
