The National Theatre of Scotland's free-form theater piece, drawn from interviews with members of Scotland's storied Black Watch regiment, dispatched to the "triangle of death" in Iraq, uses a mix of inventive environmental-theater devices — song, video, kinetic group choreography — to both celebrate a group of warriors and condemn the war they were forced to take part in. Staged on large performance spaces around the world (New Yorkers caught it at Brooklyn's St. Ann's Warehouse), it's the most powerful of a profusion of stage works inspired by a catastrophic war.
