Nine Kid Foods to Avoid
Using nutritional guidelines by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, TIME.com put popular kid-friendly food products to the test. Here's a sample of packaged foods that parents may be better off avoiding, plus our suggestions for what to buy instead
Always a crowd-pleasing snack, these cheddar-flavored crackers' package brags they are trans-fat free. That's certainly something parents should look for at the supermarket. But these goldfish are also swimming in salt 250 mg per serving.
Better choice: Honey Maid graham crackers. Put the goldfish aside for another classic kids favorite. Graham crackers are much lower in salt.
