Nine Kid Foods to Avoid
Using nutritional guidelines by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, TIME.com put popular kid-friendly food products to the test. Here's a sample of packaged foods that parents may be better off avoiding, plus our suggestions for what to buy instead
Kids love Pixar, and this soup's got Pixar's Cars right in the can. The pasta is made with whole grains, according to the label. But each serving also contains 580 mg of sodium 100 mg more than the CSPI's recommended level for soups.
Better choice: Earth's Best Organic Elmo Vegetable Soup. It has noodles shaped like the beloved Sesame Street character, but cuts down on the salt.
