50 Authentic American Experiences
Here you'll find 50 picks one for each state of unique places, activities and events that you might not have considered the last time you traveled
It's hard to remember when going to the movies didn't mean overpriced popcorn, massive multiplex theaters and some jackass in the seat behind you yapping on his cell phone. The splendidly art-deco Fargo Theatre is one of the last great movie palaces left in America. Opened in 1926, the theater recalls a more elegant time, with crystal chandeliers, grand staircases, period carpet and a pipe organ that was played for radio shows in the '30s and '40s. Within these walls, even the lamest of movies (we're looking at you, The Love Guru) becomes an event.
314 Broadway, Fargo; 701-239-8385.
