50 Authentic American Experiences
Here you'll find 50 picks one for each state of unique places, activities and events that you might not have considered the last time you traveled
If you've seen Deliverance, you don't need us to tell you how scary the Southern backwoods can be. Each October, they get even scarier when Cypress Gardens, a blackwater swamp and nature preserve in Moncks Corner, throws its annual Halloween event. Guests are invited to take a haunted boat ride through the dark swamp among the Cypress trees, encountering staged scenes of horror and having the pee scared out of them by scuba divers who splash up out of the murk. Haunted house attractions may be a staple all across America, but the rest of America doesn't have this swamp.
Admission: $12.
