Pastor Harold is not classically mediagenic. The head of Get Ready Ministries in Phoenix is sometimes poorly lit and occasionally floats out of the frame; every once in a while, his sermons are punctuated by the sound of a dog barking. Rotund and verbally unpolished, Harold would never make it on TV. But on the Web, his 49 videos based on the theology known technically as pre-millennial dispensationalism — roughly, the faith illustrated in the Left Behind books — pick up over 5,000 viewers apiece. Harold believes that the seven-year Tribulation, complete with blood, fire and antichrist, is about to begin. He preaches Christians must prepare for the Second Coming, of which, he says, "we're right at the doorstep."
