Top 10 Movie Presidents
Josh Brolin stars as George W. Bush in Oliver Stone's W. But W. is just the most recent in a storied cinematic history of Commanders-in-Chief on the big screen. A look at the most notable performances.
Josh Brolin as President George W. Bush (2008)
Josh Brolin, the undersung star of No Country for Old Men, locates the fear behind the swagger in young Dubya. The film lurches from the sweetness of the George-and-Laura love story (she's played very appealingly by Elizabeth Banks) to the chilling cartoonery of the planning for the Iraq war. A pity, though, that W. seems to be missing what most other Oliver Stone films from Platoon to JFK to Nixon have never lacked: A point of view. Brolin's game, but there's no real character for him to play.
