Who's got the best record of predicting election results? Forget the pundits. TIME takes a look at 10 strange (but sometimes true) presidential election predictors

In 2000, 7-11 chains countrywide introduced a coffee competition wherein customers are given the chance to weigh in on the election through their choice of coffee cup blue for Democrats, red for Republicans.
In the past two elections, the 7-11 poll has practically mirrored the final national results. In 2000, Bush cups outsold Gore cups by 1% and in 2004, Bush cups were preferred to Kerry cups 51% to 49%.
Current tally on 2008 cups sold:
60% Obama
40% McCain
