Tina Fey

Pro: Her "Bitch is the New Black" bit on Saturday Night Live boosted Hillary Clinton's sagging campaign, and her dead-on, incredibly influential Palin impression defined the VP-nominee as a quick-winkin' airhead well before Palin had a chance to define herself. "I can see Alaska from my house."

Con: No cultural figure has impacted the news more than Fey in '08, but she picked the wrong year to kick butt: with a historic presidential race and economic collapse as competition, can an actress really be Person of the Year?
