Pro: Liu, the president of the Beijing Organizing Committee, ran a great Olympics. As he instructed, Beijingers stopped spitting, littering, and for the most part, polluting. And for two weeks the Olympic volunteers were the nicest, most enthusiastic people on the planet.

Con: There were still days when the smog was suffocating. Was keeping Joey Cheek out of the country really worth the PR hit?
