PRO: The economic meltdown — with its gluttonous bankers and waffling politicos — was seemingly tailor-made for O'Reilly's brand of vein-popping populism. And when he wasn't shouting at Barney Frank, he managed to turn out a best-selling memoir, A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity.

CON: A widely seen YouTube clip of a vintage O'Reilly meltdown reminded viewers of not only his hotheadedness, but also the fact that he once hosted Inside Edition.
