The 2009 TIME 100 Finalists
Cast your votes for the leaders, artists, entrepreneurs and thinkers who deserve a spot on this year's TIME 100. By Brian Raftery
AGE: 47
OCCUPATION: U.S. Treasury Secretary
PREVIOUS APPEARANCES ON THE TIME 100: 0
PRO: Granted, his nomination process was a bit a rocky (who hasn't screwed around with their International Monetary Fund paperwork from time to time?), but Geithner now holds sway over the entire banking industry. Among his unenviable job duties: overseeing the distribution of bailout funds, eliminating toxic assets and restoring confidence.
CON: Wall Street continues to find his plans maddeningly vague.
