Born out of concerns about a growing population and a short supply of freshwater, this futuristic — and still conceptual — tower has been designed as a sustainable means of turning seawater into freshwater. Housing five cocoon-like greenhouses, the farm would convert saltwater using fairly simple processes based on condensing warm, humid air.
