Connecticut: Wall Street's Bedroom, on Sale

Halstead Country Living

Westport — 2 Brooklawn Drive
Original price: $2,495,000
Current listing: $1,999,000

The price of this new home has decreased more than half a million dollars in its 800 days on the market. Westport, in Fairfield County, an hour's commute to Manhattan, is the town that actor Paul Newman called home and where hedge-fund manager Ray Dalio plies his trade. The home, on about an acre, has five bedrooms, 4½ bathrooms, a wood exterior and colonial style. Because it was put up by a Greek builder, the layout is unique and boasts a European flair, says Realtor Eileen Lawrence. Outside the house is a deck with a place for a pool, and the home is just a few minutes from the beach.
