25 Best Back-to-School Gadgets
Wait isn't it still summer? Technically, yes, but it's never too early to start prepping your arsenal of back-to-school gadgets for the fall. We've searched high and low for the perfect laptop, digital camera, cell phone and even toothbrush to make your academic year complete
Want to put on a show on the fly for your fellow dorm dwellers? Just slip Optoma's Pico projector out of your pocket and turn that blank wall in the lounge into an instant movie screen. About the size of a cell phone, the 4-oz. (113 g) PK-101 can project an image up to 60 in. (150 cm) in diameter, at a reasonably sharp (if far short of HD) resolution of 480 pixels by 320 pixels, and it even has a tiny built-in speaker. The diminutive, battery-powered projector comes with an iPod/iPhone-compatible cable and will also work with any DVD player or digital camera with standard RCA-style video and audio plugs. No, the PK-101 will never compete with an IMAX theater, but it's better than trying to watch The Lord of the Rings on a 3-in. iPhone screen.
Price: $299
