On Aug. 31, Disney announced it would acquire the comic-book publisher Marvel for $4 billion. But the Mouse gets more than just the rights to Spider-man, The X-Men and other bankable superheroes: it also inherits Marvel's vast stable of some 5,000 heroes and villains some obscure, some unusual and some bizarre. Bio: One night Dracula, while traveling through the Swiss countryside, finds a cow named Bessie and drinks her blood. Bessie's owner discovers her lifeless, bitten body and buries her. Three days later, she arises from the dead and begins to roam the earth seeking revenge on Dracula. After 300 years of fruitless searching, Bessie travels to Cleveland. She meets Howard the Duck, whom she mistakes for Dracula. A raging, confused Bessie attacks Howard, who drives a wooden stake through her heart and puts her to rest for eternity.
