50 Things to See, Hear and Do This Fall

It has been five years since Audrey Niffenegger published The Time Traveler's Wife, and unless you're into time-traveling, you've probably been rather impatient for her next book. It's here: Her Fearful Symmetry is a ghost story about a pair of fetching, ice-blond identical twins on whom an unusual inheritance is settled: a lump of cash and an apartment looking out onto Highgate Cemetery in London. The bequest comes from their deceased aunt Elspeth, herself the identical (and estranged) twin of their mother. Oh, and Elspeth is now haunting the apartment as a ghost. Not to worry, all will become clear. Or as clear as possible when two sets of identical twins are involved.
