In early 2009, Kanye West designed a high-top sneaker for luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton, and to promote it, he announced he would change his name to Martin Louis the King Jr. West never explained what the inspirational civil-rights leader had to do with a line of brightly colored, $800-$1,140 footwear, and luckily the nickname didn't stick. So far, no one has officially called the rapper anything but Kanye.
