Top 10 Outrageous Kanye West Moments
Interrupting country star Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards was just what you might have expected from Kanye West. TIME looks back at the famously cocky rapper's most out-there stunts
In case you didn't already know, Kanye doesn't handle criticism well even when it's not really a critique. When Entertainment Weekly writer Chris Wilson gave West's Glow in the Dark tour a respectable B+, he faced the wrath of the rapper, who made it very clear that when it comes to rating his performances, there is no middle ground. (See TIME's grade of Kanye's 2007 Grammy performance.)
"What's a B+ mean?" West demanded on his blog. "I'm an extremist, its either pass or fail! A+ or F-! You know what, f___ you and the whole f___ing staff!" West who famously left school before producing his debut album, The College Dropout, depriving higher education of his grade-negotiation tactics went on to note that only a "very miserable person" could have written such a misguided review.
