After a newspaper claimed to have uncovered Banksy's real identity, his website proclaimed, "I am unable to comment on who may or may not be Banksy, but anyone described as being 'good at drawing' doesn't sound like Banksy to me." Perhaps, but the determinedly anonymous artist's witty stenciled graffiti art has been beautifully executed on sidewalks, buildings, animals, banknotes and the Israeli West Bank Barrier, and commands high prices at auctions and inspires imitators worldwide. His debut movie, Exit Through the Gift Shop, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and opens in theaters in the U.S. on April 16.
