Before the 2006 Olympics in Torino, Miller was America's great hope for historic skiing success. He flamed out, however, and set records for Olympic partying rather than top finishes. Miller came out of retirement to compete in the Vancouver Olympics, and was largely an afterthought. But his record-setting performance garnering a gold, silver and bronze — winning more medals at one Games than any other American skier in history — provided an inspiring tale of redemption.
