The 2010 TIME 100

The first time my friend Jet Li and I talked about his One Foundation, which he began to assist with disaster-relief efforts in China and beyond, he was so passionate that I felt the only thing for me to do was to help. The philosophy is based on giving everyone the chance to help, however small their contribution. If everyone gives just $1, he says, then among all of us, we could make a huge difference. What impressed me is that his program focuses not just on the well-being of children who survive natural disasters but offers psychological support as well.

Jet, 46, is very charming, with a great smile — much more delicate than he appears in films like Hero and Romeo Must Die. He calls me his sister, as he likes to say we are now all part of one big family.
