The Lost Finale: Top 10 Most Anticipated TV Endings
Even if you've never seen an episode of Lost, you've probably heard all about the mysterious island and the hatch and the smoke monster. All that is coming to an end. The May 23 series finale joins the pantheon of most anticipated TV events ever.
Cheers, the show about a bar where everybody knows your name, ended its 11-season run on May 20, 1993. Shelly Long's character, Diane Chambers, left the show in 1987; in the last episode she returns to the bar and strikes up a romance (again) with Ted Danson's character, Sam Malone. They get engaged, but then break it off because Sam's true place is not with her, it's with the bar. The show ends with a customer trying to walk into the perennially open bar only to be told by Sam, "Sorry, we're closed."
