The Wicked Witch of the West
The Wicked Witch of the West was the baddest witch around. In 1939's The Wizard of Oz, she was played by Margaret Hamilton as a green-skinned, wart-covered evil woman dressed entirely in black from the shoes on her feet to the pointy hat atop her head. That look — along with a rickety old broom to fly on — still remains the one children mimic on Halloween, a testament to an utterly iconic character.
