What could be worse than ruining what you thought would be that "Kodak moment"? In the early '60s Kodak recognized a need to make film loading as easy as possible, so every moment whether it turned out great or not could be captured for posterity. Thus the birth of the Instamatic 100 and its many imitators. A new kind of film that was packed into a plastic cartridge could easily be popped into the camera, eliminating or at least reducing user error.
