The 50 Best Websites of 2011
We honor the scrappy newcomers and established players that make the Web so useful, entertaining and just plain indispensable
Gogobot
On a Web chockablock with travel sites, Gogobot stands out for its ambition, inviting design and social feel. As on other sites, you can read and write reviews of hotels, restaurants and other establishments. But you can also keep tabs on your friends' wanderings, find recommendations for destinations you plan to visit and give advice on any travel topic, such as the best burger in San Francisco or what type of weather to expect in Hong Kong in December. And you can maintain a "passport" of your travels and create digital scrapbooks of places you've been. Gogobot isn't the only travel site you'll ever need TripAdvisor has far more reviews but it's one you'll want to visit.
