Fifteen years after the death of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas, another young performer joined the startling list of hip-hop artists who became victims of yet-unsolved murders. Monte' Ray Talbert — who went by the name M-Bone — was certainly not as famous as Shakur or Shakur's ex-friend and chief rival, the Notorious B.I.G., who was also shot to death in an unsolved murder in July 1997. But M-Bone had helped put his group Cali Swag District on the map with choreography that had everyone from kids to the First Lady of the U.S. dancing. "Teach Me How to Dougie" — inspired by rap pioneer Doug E. Fresh — caught on in 2009 and swept the country. But on May 15, 2011, M-Bone was found slumped on the steering wheel of his car in Inglewood, Calif., two bullet wounds in his head. Apparently a gunman drove up and opened fire on M-Bone, who had stopped by a liquor store. Similar to the victims of other unsolved hip-hop murders, M-Bone may have been involved in several feuds. The police have yet to arrest a suspect.
