Like the Panasonic VDR-M30, Hitachi's DVD camcorder records to both DVD-R and DVD-RAM, and automatically creates scene indexes (complete with thumbnail images) as you're shooting, so you won't have to fast-forward or rewind to find a specific moment. Not only is it sleeker and sportier than earlier models, but the MV350 has a color viewfinder and twice the resolution in its 2.5-in. LCD screen. A USB 2.0 interface offers high-speed data transfer to nearly all newer-model PCs, and the Secure Digital (SD) flash-memory card slot makes storing digital still images easy. (The MV380A, a $100 step-up, sports a 1-megapixel CCD for even clearer stills.) |
