One of the highlights of Sharp's new Mini DV Viewcam "Z" is its ergonomic design: Other camcorders require the user's hand to be exactly parallel or perpendicular to the body, but the Z's various segments swivel independently, allowing users to relax their wrists to a "free angle" and still get a straight-ahead shot. Also new is the CG Silicon view screen, a 2.5-in. LCD that uses two separate technologies to guarantee a bright display both indoors and out. More perks on this soccer-mom special, due in March, include 1.3-megapixel still images, a built-in flash and SD card slot, and Sharp's smart "zoom" microphone.
