Due in February from the DVD+R/RW camp, this sporty external drive can connect to your PC via either a USB 2.0 or a 1394 (aka FireWire or i.Link) jack. The drive, which comes with ArcSoft's ShowBiz DVD and Veritas RecordNow software, can also write CD-R and CD-RW discs. For do-it-yourselfers, the 300i internal drive is available for $300.
