Almost a year ago, Sony stunned the DVD world by creating a "dual-format" recorder. Instead of taking sides, Sony simply let users burn DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R and DVD-RW discs — not to mention CD-R and CD-RW — all on the same device. In February, a new pair of dual drives will arrive: the internal DRU-500AX and the external DRX-500ULX, which can connect to a PC via either FireWire or USB 2.0.
