Canon PowerShot A60
Although the A60 is also a 2-megapixel camera, its versatility and rugged metal body make it a better all-purpose point-and-shoot than many higher-resolution models. And at snapshot size, 2-megapixel prints are as frameworthy as anything from the photomat. Its 12 shooting modes include Landscape, Night Scene and Movie, plus custom aperture and exposure options for more controlled shutterbugging. There's a 3x optical zoom lens, a direct printing function for Canon printers, and an A/V connection to the TV for slideshow on the go. What's missing? A lithium-ion battery, which would make it a little less bulky than it is with four AAs.
