Toshiba Satellite A15-S157
For a laptop with a little more kick you have to climb up over the $1,000 mark — well over. The A15-S157 (not to be confused with other A15s) is Toshiba's lowest-price model with built-in Wi-Fi wireless networking. The specs are fairly robust: 15-in. display, 40GB hard drive, 512MB of RAM, and at the center, a 2.2GHz Celeron processor with integrated 32MB graphics controller. It may not be the powerhouse video gamers yearn for — for that, you'd have to check out Toshiba's high-end 5205 series — but it meets many of the more, uh, academic requirements of high schoolers and college students.
