Radio Shack FlatFoto Camera
It may not be on the school's required shopping list, but a camera is a great way for kids to stimulate their minds, and, for the cost equivalent of two to four video games, you can get some pretty cool cameras. One big hit especially in the value department is Radio Shack's FlatFoto. The current model, a slender red 1.3-megapixel camera with flash and LCD monitor, sells for $70. Even better is the update, arriving in October, which will be metallic blue and feature 2-megapixel image resolution and a slot for removable memory. Both cameras charge their internal battery when connected to the computer, via USB, so no extra power cord is required.
