Radio Shack FlatFoto Camera
It may not be on the school's required shopping list, but a camera is a great way for kids to stimulate their minds, and, for the cost equivalent of two to four video games, you can get some pretty cool cameras. One big hit — especially in the value department — is Radio Shack's FlatFoto. The current model, a slender red 1.3-megapixel camera with flash and LCD monitor, sells for $70. Even better is the update, arriving in October, which will be metallic blue and feature 2-megapixel image resolution and a slot for removable memory. Both cameras charge their internal battery when connected to the computer, via USB, so no extra power cord is required.
