PC Storage and Memory

For serious storage for your digital files consider the Imation Micro Hard Drive. It provides up to 2 gigabytes of space for $159 (flash drives with that much room typically run about $200), and it comes in one impressively tiny package: at 3.3-in. by 1.7-in. and less than three quarters of an inch thick, it looks like a Zippo. The flexible USB 2.0 connector locks back into the body so you can safely hook it to your backpack or belt loop. It also works to keep files updated by synchronizing them with the files on your PC, and if you activate the pre-loaded security software you can encrypt the contents. A 4-GB version is due out by the end of the year for $189.
Seagate's USB 2.0 pocket hard drives make for a less compelling fashion statementthey look like yoyosbut offer more storage space for the money: the 2.5 GB version costs around $100, 5 GB around $150, depending on where you buy.
