Reproductions of paintings by several artists, including Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso, are smuggled from Nazi-occupied Paris across the Atlantic, violating a Nazi ban on "decadent" art. The works demonstrate that "the older artists had done considerable work . . ." under German occupation.
