VINCE'S VICTORY
Fueled by Reggie Bush, the untouchable Heisman trophy winner, and All-America quarterback Matt Leinart, USC entered January's Rose Bowl, the national title game, riding a 34-game winning streak. But Texas quarterback Vince Young outshone the Trojans' stars. With game down to a final play, fourth and 5, Young scrambled untouched for an 8-yard touchdown with 19 seconds left, giving Texas a 41-38 comeback win. It was his third TD of the night; Young ran for 200 yards, and passed for 267 more. "That," USC coach Pete Carroll said, "is an extraordinary football player."
